Dear all

I am designing a pile foundation for a new building. the columns are closely spaced so I decided to place them on a single pile cap with a depth of about 1 meter, each column will transfer the load to the individual pile. The pile cap will also be connected with ground beams.

Is there any consideration I should take, besides bearing capacity, settlements, and lateral deflection?

Thanks for the feedback.

Discuss with the structural engineer. You want to make sure you account for any eccentric loading on this.

If the pile locations coincide with column locations without eccentricity , you may assume the column axial load will transfer to individual pile. Still the bending and shear forces and so will be resisted by the common pile cap.
