Hi, I am modelling a three layer rotating concentric cylinder with ANSYS to investigate the interlaminar stresses. Hence a 3D analysis is unavoidable. It is a solid shell element. Is it possible to model it in one solid cylinder instead of three and define the layers via the section command? Or is section command limited to only defining the layers for each element? I had modelled it via the section command and i realized that the stresses are not correct. i believe the section command only defined the layers for each elements and not the whole section of the model
When modeling it in 3 layers on the other hand, i glued the volumes together but i had problems defining the boundary conditions. the boundary conditions cannot be defined similar to one single cylinder.
i would appreciate any form of opinions, help and tips. as i'm running short on time.
Thanks.
