Eng-tips community, I'm sizing a throttle body and inlet hot and cold side vs the turbo inlet size, intake size, displacement, rpm. I'm an ME but I work on suspension not engines so please treat this like a noob question.
On a typical naturally aspirated engine larger throttle body seems to provide a HP gain especially with higher rpm, is this also the case with a turbo system with much greater air pressure and velocity? same question for intake manifold.
Also, what is the ideal camshaft for a turbo engine vs. supercharged vs. N.A. high rpm? thinking about optimizing for HP and efficiency. single 88mm turbocharger (TBD type), V8 5.0 L Ford Coyote engine.
Any thoughts appreciated before i spring $10,000 for a turbo kit, i want to know MORE than the guy building it. Thanks!
