I have a slab tied into a circular column sitting about 12 feet in the air. I am anchoring a blast-resistant structure to the slab. I am using pre-cast sleeves and post-installed through bolts with a nut and washer on the other end. If the tensile force exherted on the anchor is known how do you calculate the diagonal tension stress developed in the surrounding concrete? ACI 349-05 is not applicable for through bolts. I am assuming a truncated pyramidal stress projection per ACI but i'm not sure how to calculate the diagonal tension stresses in the concrete and determine the strength of the concrete. Anyone have any helpful ideas?
