I designed through plate moment connection in SCIA software attached is the design calculation, please review and suggest can I rely on the attached calculation to design this connection??

And please also suggest practically strength wise connection is safe??? Could I face any problem with this type of connection after erection?? (However I know the erection and fabrication is little difficult but just consider the strength of connection)

Haven't fully reviewed it but I know with these connections it is usually limited by the weld from hss to the through plate which transfers the moment. If you are using fillet welds and are concerned PJP and CJP welds can be used for greater strength.

yes i am using 6mm fillet welding all around i think which is more then enough , and i am using SHS 250-12 column section which gives me enough surface for welding.
but i am confuse does these type of connection practically perform correctly as we consider in the calculation , and i will divide the flange plate in to 2 plates and splice the plate center of the column because column is continues does this splice effect the design??

I strongly suspect that the strength of the "THROUGH" flange plates will be substantially less than calculated if the plates are coped around the column. I haven't reviewed the calculations in detail. I suggest the column be cut into three pieces and fully welded to the flange plates.

Additionally, you will need steel shims between the beam top flange and the top flange plate.

yes you are correct, that is why i keep the factor of safty in little bit more higher side , actually moment and shear force are not the big values (280 KN-m and 275 KN each side ) . and the column section is 250-12 mm SHS so i think enough space for welding, i want the fabrication work as less as possible.
if you see the calculation summary the passing ratio is around 60 %.
any possibility to increase the more strength of the connection by increasing the plates , welding or bolts etc in the same configuration???

shahg213, haven't you asked this question before on the 9th of December - "Moment Connection with SHS Column" thread507-400452 (having Deja-vu). The general consensus was better connection details exist and a few were even shown to you. An online form is not the place to have other engineers design and/or check your work for you...
