Dear friends,

How can I model thrust block on a buried pipe? How can I calculate thrust block stiffness and yield load for inputting in buried pipe modeler? CAESAR II docs don't have enough discussion about this subject.

99.9999% full restraint. Give it a max axial displacement of 1.5 mm at full load.

Thank you BigInch. Do you mean I should specify an anchor with 1.5mm gap at the thrust block point?(Or 2 line stops with 1.5mm gap for an elbow?)
 
Give the anchor a large spring constant. Check that its movement is less than 1.5 mm.

As I know in hydrotest of large bore GRP lines at elbows, movement may be higher than 1 inch despite of the thrust block . Even in operating condition actual movement of thrust blocks at fittings are so higher than 1.5 mm. Thus I think stiffness of thrust block should calculate and uses for modelling. Am I right?
 
If they are smll blocks, you may be correct.
