IS there a specific codes from AASHTO or ASTM that would suggest the diameter of Tie Wire that's a minimum requirement for in-situ bridge girders. I have looked at ANSI/ASTM A82, they just referenced the cold drawn steel wire that could be used based on its tensile strength, but I am dealing with a consultant engineer who wants reference codes. I also know that tie wire structural function after concrete is place is very minimal and doesn't contribute much. Can Someone assist in this?

It should be in the project specifications. If the "consultant engineer" is the engineer of record for the project, then that engineer should be responsible for the project specifications. Most project specifications I have seen call out 16 gauge (1.6 mm) minimum diameter for tie wire.

I've never seen an ASTM or AASHTO designation for tie wire. Most specs simply say "Annealed steel, 16 gage minimum". Tie wire is an off the shelf item. 16-g is actually less than the minimum wire size of A82. Maybe to satisfy this individual, show him your state DOT rebar, if you're in the US, if not, show him some DOT specs anyway.
