tiff files

In nx4 I'm using drafting to import tiff files (A scan image of a mylar) and trace the part out. But Nx seem to only let me import certain file sizes into drafting. Is there a setting for the max tiff file that can be imported into drafting that I'm missing?

Not that I'm aware of. What is the limit that you're talking about? Also, this is NOT the recommended approach. We actually have a function, in our Studio Design module, where you can import a Tiff image directly into Modeling as a Bounded Plane which you can then select as a Sketch plane, allowing you to skecth directly over the top of the image.

Is an error message displayed? If so, what is the message?
What size tiff image are you trying to import and what size drawing sheet are you trying to import it to?

ERROR READING TIFF DATA is the error I'm getting. The sheet sizes very from 12.0 x 12.0 to say 200.0 x 36.0. Here is what I have notices if I scan a Large mylar with the settings at 300dpi with black and white. Unigraphics will not read it, But if i use the same settings and scan a small mylar it reads it just fine. I have to scan Large mylars in a 75 dpi. I have tried this on several differnt sizes and settings. Its been a consistent - the larger the mylar the less the dpi. I would really like to just scan all tiff files in at 300dpi.

You may need to get some specialized software that does raster to vector conversion first. I suspect the problem is that the amount of data (raster points) that has to be processed is exceeding the limitation of 32-bit processing. Even the 64-bit versions of NX are still performing some of the tasks within 32-bit limitations as it takes time to get everything re-engineered.
