Can anyone recommend a book on timber framing/post and beam construction written for engineers, or with a depth of detail that would be useful for an engineer? I'm afraid to go looking on Amazon because most books there are written for prospective home buyers and timber framers, and I doubt too much would be covered from an engineer's perspective. Any suggestions?

Two excellent suggestions that should really cover all the bases for me. Thank you to SlideRuleEra and RockEngineer!

I like "Wood Engineering and Construction", by Keith F. Faherty and Thomas G. Williamson, 2nd Edition, McGraw-Hill, 1995, ISBN 0-07-019911-6. It is a text book, but very practical.
