Different between time history trace and response spectrum curves in a time history analysis in sap2000

A time history is a specific event, usually displacement vs time. From this, of course, the velocity and acceleration of the element may be found. A response spectrum is far more general has it describes the response of a single degree of freedom to an event (such as a time history) for that elements period or frequency.

I think we can say that response spectrum curve is simplified time history datas according to the soil types.Also we can define reponse spectrum case is a response
of a structures against earthquake acc.
