Hi,
I'm modelling a frame RC to perform after an Incremental Dynamic Analisys (IDA). I tryed to use the direct integration (time history) analysis with a spectrum (of a specific location) and like proportional damping I used "specific damping by period" and for first and second period I used the fondamental period of vibration (through Modal Analysis). The scale factor I used a lot of values...
By Push over analysis I saw that the yelding of the element in top of the structure was about 22 cm, and after I had implemented a few analysis to attain this displacement throught direct integration analysis scaling the scale factor.
The section that I used are performed by "section designer" through fiber models. The material that I used are default by sap and like mass source I choose "From element and Additional Mass and Loads".
After I assigned the hinge properties to frames with "fiber P-M2-M3" modelling also the Hinge Length.
My problem is that the structure not reach the failure never! If I plot on the axis X the MIDR(Maximum Interstorey Drift)and on Y the spectral acceleration Sa(T1) I obtain always a straight line, while in theory the correct form is a curve line!!!
Could anyone help me?
