Hi All
I have the following Class PX CT and i want to calculate two things:
[ol 1]
[li]Validate whether the CT will saturate when a fault occurs[/li]
[li]Time of free-satarution or the time the CT takes to reach a saturation status[/li]
[/ol]
CT Characteristics:
IEC Class PX
Ratio: 1000/1 A
Vk: 500 V
Ie: 30 mA
Rct: 5.4 Ohm
Burden: 1 Ohm
Fault Level
Ik: 5.5 kA
X/R: 4.48
For the first point the are a lot of information in the forum about it i understand that i can know that using the folowing formula
Vk > (Ik / Ratio) * (Rct + Burden)
But i think I'm not takin into consideration DC component and X/R ratio and thats why I'm thinking about Time-To-Saturate. I've found a paper on internet but to be honest I don't quite understand it. Hope anyone in the forum could help me.
Thanks
