I copied some ANSYS code and made additional matlab code to read modal data from ANSYS workbench and export it to MATLAB. I use it for state space representation in MATLAB for servo controller design.

I have read a lot of usefull tips from this site and other sites. Therefore I want to post the result. I hope it comes to use for someone someday.

If you use this and find errors, please inform me :).

I know very little of the ANSYS scripting language. I 'm not capable to answer any questions on this part. The ANSYS part took me ages to figure out and I was lucky to find someone with a script available that saves the nodes from a named selection in workbench.

I have uploaded the file with the description to

Feel free to contact me with questions.

Enjoy,

Hi TechDans,
Thank you very much for your valuable post. I want to ask a question from you. Can you please help me as I am in a trouble now? I tried this for more than a month.
I modeled a pin supported beam in ANSYS Classic and did a transient analysis. I got displacement data and force data from ansys. I want to add white Gaussian noise to these data to analyze practical situation. Then I want to find frequency and mode shape from these noise polluted data so that I can find deference between noise polluted data and noise free data. But I do not have any idea to get this. Can you please help me?
