Tips and tricks for Assembly?

I was wondering if anyone could share any assembly tips for a beginner (assembly is my worst component)? I know how all the constraints work, but sometimes it takes me a while to snap my part into place or sometimes I find it difficult to select the center axis of a circle?

use publications (axis and mating surfaces).this is useful especially with fasteners
