Hi,

Can anyone recommend a supplier for electropolishing titanium?

We are getting more requests for this service for our etched titanium components

I understand titanium electropolishing can be done, but is hazardous.

Thanks!

I looked at the link. There is no mention of electropolishing, and what they describe is not similar to what is typically understood for e.g., stainless steel. It describes selective etching that, given titanium's excellent corrosion resistance, would require strong acid(s).

I think that's the OP's website.

Seems like the chemistry might not be that different that what you are using to do etching. The caveat is that some of those sharp corners are going to get rounded.

There are a lot of jewelry people that electrocheically tint Ti for decorative use.
In the process they also can electropolish it.
Which do you care about more, color or smoothness?
