Hi
I am trying to connect with an ABB relay REG 630 for the first time. I have installed software PCM600 version 1.0.0.1 on my laptop. I have read the ip address of the relay from its menu as 192.168.0.254 & IP Mask as 255.255.255.0
I have set same address for TCP/IP 4 in control panel.
In PCM600 I have created a new project/substation/voltage level/bay/IEC61850 IED. I have connected an ethernet cable between my laptop & the relay front port.
When I right click on IEC 61850/Select Disturbance Handling, I have message
"IED is offline. Plz re-establish communication and try again"

Can you plz advise what is wrong and how to establish the communication?

You need to install REG630 software package via Update Manager and after that, you should add REG630 configuration to your project.
It's not correct to choose IEC61850 IED, you should add REG630.

Too many things can go wrong in this case:

1. ABB Relays has different IP address for front and rear ports. The address shown above is for rear port. Front port address is normally 10.1.153.3 needs to be checked from HMI in communication section. Laptop should have IP in the same range, say 10.1.153.100
2. REG630 connectivity package is needed for connectivity.
3. As stated above relay is to be added REG630.

Thks a lot beyond86. I will do so.

I have been able to communicate with the relay ABB REG630. Thks a lot.
Can you plz explain how can I view an event in a disturbance viewer? I have been told to use ABB wavewin. But I have not been able to save an event and then open it with wavewin.

Click of right button on "REG630-FINAL", you will see disturbance records and events.

When I right click on REG630 Final, I can view Event Viwer & Disturbance Handling. I do not see anything in the Disturbance handling. I cannot open an event to view the curves of voltage and current and the digital signals as Generator breaker , Turbine Trip, etc.
On another relay Micom P40, I can view the event, download them as comtrade and view in a software as below.
Can you plz give me the steps to do the same in the ABB REG630? Thks

Right click on the background of the Disturbance Handling tab and select "Read Recording Information" Then right click the one you want and click "Export Recordings" to export he comtrade file which can be opened in Wavewin.
Here is a video I just found on Youtube, it is not in english.

Also, at the top where it says Local Recordings, you might have to change that to All Recordings.

I have exported the file in the relay REG630 and saved as .pcmi
I have installed PCM600 on another laptop. When I try to import the file .pcmi, I get the message

19/07/2020 19:00:07.404 PCMNavigator.ProjectHandling.a InvalidOperationException There is an error in XML document (4, 2).
I cannot open it.

Can you plz give me the steps how to open the file .pcmi in PCM600?

I can view the events and disturbance handling in the relay REG630. However I cannot open an event to view in a disturbance analyser. Also in the Event Viewer I can see events up to July 2020 whereas in the Disturbance Recorder, I can see recordings for June 2018 only. I do not see disturbance recordings for July 2020 although we have started and stop the plant.

I see lots of recordings in the disturbance recorder for IL Line and Neutral. We would like the disturbance recorder to record events when the turbine or alternator trip or other important events.

Can you plz advise me how to do so?

Everything can be done, but its little complicated. You can start by checking application configuration / parameter settings for function block RADR and RBDR... and refering to technical reference manual for REG630.
