I want to know how to tolerance the straightness of a bore in a shaft properly.

I thought it was cylindricity at first, but now thinking its concentricity to the outer diameter.

Any help, would be much appreciated.
Thanks

You need to give a bunch of information on function/application etc. for anyone to be able to help you, and frankly forum1103 may be a better place to ask.

Concentricity actually has fairly limited application, one of the runouts is often a better choice or in many cases position is quite adequate.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Yeah, concentricity means cylindrical bore OD to ID have identical centre lines to within tolerance.

Do you mean "TIR" or the included taper run out along the radius?
