I am estimating a project that requires stamping a .25 - .375" deep repeating pattern in .032" thick 1/8 hard copper. The pattern is made up of simple joggles and bead shapes. The total lineal inches of "bends" is 102". If I estimate the tonnage similar to making bends on a brake press the total only comes out to a few tons. I plan to use fairly large clearances or possibly a rubber pad for the male die, but it seams to me the tonnage should be higher. I don't know if it matters but the area of the pattern is aproximately 8" deep x 24" wide. The plan is to punch this section then feed the panel in 8" and repeat the pattern.
Thanks in advance for any help.
