Tool identification (with colours) in the workshop

Hi there,

We have a production plant with different workbenches. All of them have the same equipment. In order not to mix up the tools they are identified with colours.

Just wrapping (insulating) tape around them.

This system is not working so well, because the tape comes off. Here a picture:



What could we do for marking the tools?

Paint will eventually wear off over time.
3D printed parts would have to be customized and will break and fall.
Laser engraving would be costly (in work and money)

Maybe a more durable tape?

Any ideas?

Maybe there is already a comercial solution for this

Make the workers financially responsible for their issued tools. Then they will find their own good method of marking.

Paint won't wear off that quickly, and won't wear off complete, and is cheap and easy to renew.

Heat shrink tube.
