Hello, am working on a part that has European tool steel requirements.
1.2842
acceptable alternates are 1.2362 or 1.2344.01

Where can I find it in the US?

I am told that 1.2842 is an O2 grade and NOT available in the US anymore.

1.2344 is equivalent to H13 tool steel. This is a widely available grade from just about any tool steel producer in any part of the world. The other two grades are not common in USA, but there are other grades that are similar and can produce equivalent properties/performance.

Thanks for the info. What does the .01 do to the grade 1.2344 ?
