Toolbox Configuration Help

All,
I made a part (example:NAS1351) with many configurations (example: NAS1351C04-10, NAS1351C04-12 etc.....) and added it to parts browser (add my parts wizzard). Now when I drag and drop into an assembly, I only see "configuration name" (which is my part configuration, NAS1351C04-10, cool...)but don't see anything in "comment". I have created comments (right mouse click, properties)for each configuration (example: #4-40 (.112-40) X .625 LENGTH) in my part, but does not show up in my assembly when I drag and drop. I would really like this to show up for the young engineers, because they're not fluent on reading the sizes in the NAS number. Any suggestions how to link these two areas up. If I have to go into MS Access database (SWBrowser) I will.

Oh, I also was looking in the "Browser Configuration/Browser/Custom Properties" and I couldn’t get it link up there either.

Unfortunately the `Comment' line that you see in the Toolbox pop-up dialogs for your parts, is not the same field as the one you see in the Properties dialogs, and is not linked to it in any way.
It is just a blank for users to type in a quick note, such as `requires cfg appr' or something similar.

The Custom Properties in the Toolbox Browser Configuration work with the standard items or derived standarads but will be limited in application to Add My Parts wizard parts.
A better approach will be to use the Configure Browser options, and create a derived standard from ANSI and call it NAS. Then use the Custom Properties to apply the NAS numbers to the various configurations. Younger users will be able to select by the standard sizes they know, and each configuration will still carry the NAS number that you want.

You can also use Tools-Options-Standards Data-Edit Data, on the derived NAS standard to remove sizes, and modify dimension values to suit. Between all the options in Configure Browser and Tools-Edit Data, you should get close to what you want without risk to the database.
If you still want the configuration name rather than a custom property to show the NAS number you could then change select entries in SWBrowser.mdb to get that effect.
