Hi all,

Is there a way to link a parameter on the top level of an assembly with a constraint such as an offset constraint or angle constraint on a sub-assembly so that you do not have to dig down to the sub-assembly to change the offset value? Also, same question about a top level assembly parameter tied to a top level constraint for the same reason. Thanks for any help.

Hello @harlowmatt I was able to do that on 3DExperience by creating 3DShape with parameters that were linked to constraints in Assembly, but on Catia V5 I doubt that there is a way.

sure it is possible. you would just need to create/add a set of parameters on the top level assy using the Knowledge Advisor Workbench. Within the same Workbench, use the Parameters Explorer to add required parameters (lengths) into that set. And when you create an offset constraint in the sub assy, use the length via the formula... you will then automatically create an external param set in the sub assy...
