Interested in a program that will develope contours. Recently started using Connex software to download data into autocadd. Is there a stand alone program that will use these points to generate contours? Also, Connex will only transfer points with 5 decimal places into autocadd. Connex tech support tells me thats the only way it will work. But getting this into a 2 decimal place format by using autocadd's 'units' options doesn't work either. Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

You may want to look at a package such as Survcadd at:

You might check a search for "autocad contour software" which will yield other options, but it's hard to beat the value of Survcadd.

What type of transfer are you doing to get your points to autocad? What labeling are you trying to accomplish as far as your decimal precision? coordinates? distances?

I assume the "points" in AutoCAD are plain text or attributes - so the "units" setting won't affect that display. You could edit the point data prior to importing into AutoCAD -say have Connex create a text or csv file, round the numbers to get what you want, then import. And there are lisp routines to round numbers...but you'll still need some contouring software. See for lots of survey software links.

Are you using Land Desktop Development if so, you have a contour make inside the program. You have the ability to make a tin and run contours.
