We have a OEM that is using the Chrysler 42LE auto in a utility app. and we need to reconfirm the proper placement of the converter inside the bell housing, we are looking for the true distance from the flex plate mating surface on the converter to the front of the bell housing in mm or inches
Can any one help??

I don't know about this trans in particular, but usually the torque converter is set all the way in minus a small amount (approx 5mm??) to prevent binding and account for converter ballooning/flexing. If it goes out too far you loose spline and pump drive contact area.
