Does anyone know if there are any torque requirements for F1554 Grade 36 anchor rods? The assemby in question is for a steel column that has no net tension. Thanks.

In case anyone is interested we contacted AISC who informed us that they have no requirement for applying a set torque force to anchor rods.

An internet search, however, reveals that many state DOT's do require a known torque to be applied to anchor bolts.

We're assuming that our structure is more akin to a building than a bridge therefore no torque specification is required.

Normally they are just snug tight - i.e. as tight as a worker can get them with a regular wrench.
