Hi all,
We have a tower crane that will be tied to our structural core (similar to the figure below) and I am checking that the core wall design is okay. I have initially done this using the Eurocode load combinations but it was brought to my attention that I should have used the Ciria's tower crane foundation and tie design instead. In my first read through of the Ciria document I have skipped Appendix A3 as the title of it is 'Foundations' but my colleague seems to insist that this is the section I should be using to get the correct load combination for the loads on the core walls.
I have read it a few times but I don't understand how it applies to what I'm trying to check. Am I missing something obvious here?
