Despite looking and looking I cannot find it on the web. I believe there is an English organisation offering internet learning in protection principles.. I understand it is a very highly regarded internet based course covering CTs/VTs and workimg up from there. Any ideas people?

Not sure if its this organisation you may be referring to? I've been pointed in their direction before but yet to take up any training so can't vouch for it. I know they do opening learning but not sure if it is internet based. Have a look and see anyway.

I've seen both SEL and GE offering web-based or CD ROM classes for their specific equipment but some of the basics are also covered.

Thanks for that Sideswiper. I know one of the reference people on the ETA course so I think I will stick with that.

As a sidebar to your question, " redvector.com " has some basic on-line electric design and maintenance courses, mainly aimed at people trying to get some PDH's as simply as possible. Can't vouch for the quality; I've never seen any more than the web advertisements.

Google "The art and science of protective relaying". Hope it helps..
