Has anyone used Trane's CDQ technology? If so I would be interested in any feedback that might be worth sharing: advantages, disadvantages, misconceptions, lessons learned, maintenance issues, perhaps other considerations that may not be mentioned here.
I'm looking at a particular application that will require high OA with DX units to condition space that has a significatn space load requirement (~14w/sf) that at times could vary down to very low load.
The CDQ allows for a decoupling of OA from the return air so that it can be isolated and treated accordingly. The idea is that you can eliminate energy wasted on reheat and hot gas bypass etc. while maintaining tighter control with wide variations in space and OA conditions.
Please limit responses to CDQ or other experience with similar design requirements. There are many different ways to address such a design, some good and not others not so good, and I realize this. I would hope to keep discussion on track to the questions as stated above.
