I never do a transfer analysis before. Can anyone tell me how to do a completed transfer analysis study? Thanks.

Transfer Capability Analysis is a complicated issue. It depends on the system you have and how far you want to go.

The basic power flow study can identify thermal and voltage stability limitations.

less than 80km of your system may only need to worry about thermal limit.

above that distance you have to consider both voltage and steady-state stability issues.

PSS/E QV and PV analysis may be helpful for you to identify the transfer capability but you have to have a clear understanding of the studied system, load modelling, switched shunt Vars Trx Tap AGC and so on and the way power flows get solved.

System normal amd various N-1 conditions sometiems N-1-1 shall be considered at planning stage study.

This may give you a 60~80% idea how much you can transfer through a system.

Dynamic stability study somtimes also need to be considered depends on the system you are going to do study.

Including rotor angle stability and small sig.stability studies.
