Transfer dimensions to side view?

This is simple stuff, but since I am an intemittent user of AutoCad 2000, I forget some things at times.
If I have, for example, a set of stairs and I have already drawn the front view. How can I most efficiently transfer all of those step dimensions to create other views. Short of using a grid or snaps, how do I "pull" all of those dims to the side? Another example would be the need to transfer a set of concentric circle dimensions. Since I cannot remember, I am running a tangent line off of each circle, one at a time. How do I "pull" all of those dimensions over together? Somewhat like a multiline. Someone please help???

Thanks in advance...

A couple of ways that this could be accomplished for individual transfer of points is the use of xline (construction lines) or the use of the .y point filter (no lines). I don't know of any way that these points can be transferred en masse.

Thanks for the response. Maybe this is just a figment of my imagination. I know you can do something similar to this in 3D by reflecting the image to create a side view, but with 2D it seems there should be some way to do this. Is there a way to use the multiline command and specify more than two lines, each with a different starting point? If there is that is exactly what I am looking for. Nevertheless, I will try using the .y point filter and see how that works.
Thanks again.
