Transfer new properties to old part/drawing. 2

Im revamping the part and drawing properties for my templates. My question is how am I able to populate parts / drawings that were created before the changes to the "templates" were made.

I'm assuming that this question should have come up before, but I can't seem to find a thread that discusses it.
