I have a Aida transfer press and my question:how I can possibly compinsate for material variation when forming sheet metal in a channel dye without shimmming dyes?
Any ideas are welcomed.
Thanks

Basically not very easily, shimming is the easiest option. Another option is to have the form jaws a set distance oversize and drive the final small amount in with wedges or cams this way by taking weight off the press the gap increases, this does however mean that you cannot bottom out the stripper/pad.

Have you considered getting tighter tolerances on the stock material?
