Transformer Oil Sampling Valve

I need all of members' advices regarding oil sampling valve for transformer.

As far as I know, I think it is a different valve type from drain and filter valve with sampling device.

In addition, I think oil sampling valve is used for on-line oil sampling without de-energizing of transformer while drain and filter valve could be open when transformer is shut down. Do I understand correctly?

Could you please give me some advices on it?

I agree with you.
The sampling valve is designed to suit the purpose of sampling the oil while the transformer is in service.
For that reason, it generally has less tha 1/2inch dia, comes with a threaded cap and some times has facility to connect a vinyl tubing.
Location wise, it is located at the same elevation as the filter valve.

Typically, the standard transformer drain valve has a secondary sample valve on it's side.
The main valve will be 1" or larger pipe with a plug.
The secondary sample valve usually has with a brass screw-on cover which will reveal a small fitting (3/8"?) and a second valve with a screw or hex-head that must be loosened (along with opening the main valve) to get the sample.
