Transformers in a Zoned Area

I have a 7.5MVA 6.6/13.2KV transformer which we need to place in a Zone 2 area (explosive atmosphere - oil/gas).

Will an oil filled transformer be compliant with the ATEX regulations?

I guess transformers located in these areas should have "explosion-proof" compliance. (Zone area 2 - gas/ explosive substances are present only during abnormal times!)

Normally we know Ex'D' equipment as 'flameproof' rather than 'explosion proof' although the two are largely interchangeable in meaning.

An oil filled transformer can be made to comply with the ATEX regulations, but they do not inherently comply. It will be a 'special' and will be fairly expensive.
