I was wondering about a 10000 KVA transformer used for commercial/residential distribution and the operation of the parallel/independent switch mounted in the LTC cabinet. We have one in our system that is a lone model and the selector switch is selected in the 'Parallel' mode. I think it got bumped in a monthly check, but there have been no issues as of yet. Is it ok to leave in this mode or do we have open connections (CT's) that could be a hazard and need to make it correct?
Appreciate any info/help.
Thanks

It's not possible to give a definitive answer without seeing the AVC schematic diagram as it would depend on the scheme. It's unlikely that moving the selector switch would open circuit CT's. The best thing to do would be to move the switch back to "solo auto" or whatever the equivalent labelling is.
