Transient Problem: Interactive Mesh

Goodafternoon,
I'm trying to develop e model to extract temperature and strees values by simulating a pulsed laser in a volume. I was wondering if there is a way to remove nodes (the nodes that achieve TEMP values over the Material Melting Point ) from the model at each substep (I don´t think Kill elements will do it), or even remesh the model eliminating those nodes. So the next substep the laser will be turned off, those nodes will be removed, and in the next substep the laser will be turned on again and will irradiate directly the nodes that wasn't melted yet.
Perhaps I might try to solve this problem using LS-DYNA.
Does any one have any ideias?
Thanks.

Hi,
kind a complicated problem, it seems, but I personally don't see why "element death" wouldn't do it.
Remesh could be also a solution IF you provide a way to alter the volume being meshed: in my opinion, it would be far more difficult.
Otherwise (but this seems a bit "brutal" and probably is not the recommended way...), you can simply unselect the elements / nodes belonging to the melt zone. You will have a warning saying that "...of the XXX defined elements, only ZZZ are selected", but generally there is no problem in accepting it and let the solution proceed.

Regards
