Transient solution - Adding material

Hi,
I am running ANSYS 11 Classic, doing a 2D thermal simulation of a smelting furnace. I currently have a transient model of furnace startup, with a constant heat flux being applied at the top of the furnace bath.

I would like to simulate the addition of more raw material (ore) to the top of this bath, partway through the solution. Is there any way to turn on or off a meshed area partway through a solution?
