Translating Zenith angle to another point

I located the tops of some trees(about 350 points) using an instrument in reflector-less mode from a point on the ground. I also have a point that I have a coordinate on, roughly 7 meters above my ground point which cannot be occupied by an instrument.I need to determine what the zenith angles would be from the elevated point to the tree tops.I was trying to do the " transformation" for lack of a better word,in Leica Geo Office and Carlson Software but can't figure it out. Also, I'm not really sure how to do it using a calculator.I'd appreciate any input or suggestions on how to do this. Perhaps some other software is capable of doing this.

I'm not quite understanding what you're saying. If the point is above the point where you took the measurement, then all the tree tops form right angles to your measurement point, and you just lop off a chuck of the rising leg and calculate a new arctangent using the same base leg.

It's always a good idea to include a sketch of the sort of problem that you have. I think that I understood your post properly, so I took the liberty to include a sketch with a solution in the jpeg attachment. Hopefully that what you are looking for-- simple geometry problem.

Thanks to all for the responses.Chicopee, I guess it would have been more accurate for me to say that I had forgotten how to do the calculations by hand then to say I "wasn't sure" how to do them. Growing up in the computer age can make a person forgetful & sometimes lazy. Also, with the amount of calculations necessary to complete the project, I was looking for a more efficient way of doing this.

You can throw everything into Excel and array the formulas.
