Hi
I have got a part where in the operations like Extrude,Revolve,Sketch etc. are in Italian language.I have to convert it to english. It is not possible manually as there are more than 600 operations.
Is there any setting to be done to convert the language????

Thanks Gurus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume you are talking about the feature manager items are in Italian, instead of the "system" being in Italian.

I would think that you is in trouble. You could write a macro to change the names, but the macro would have to know the converted names.

Perhaps a macro that extracted the feature names into, say an Excel spreadsheet, you did the language conversion (somehow) and put the results in the next column, and then run the next macro that found the existing Italian name, and replaced it with the next column cell values.

Otherwise, better wait for more intelligent offerings...

Yes
I am talking of the feature manager tree only.
Do you have any such macro which converts the language from italian to english.

Thanks very much

It may be easier just to set Windows on your computer into Italian to run the code that way.

I have had the same problem with vba code written in English to function in Italy. In that case, the cumputer had to have windows set to English and Solidworks installed in English to make it work.

Babblefish and a lot of alt-tabbing back and forth is the only way I can think to go.

I think you are SOL on this one. This is user input, not anything the system recognizes as "language". I mean, you could call a feature "fmhh568hkjzzzz" - neither English or Italian or anything else!!! The only thing I can think of is to try and write some code to suck out the feature names into a windows application, translate them via a translator, then push them back to change them. That could get really ugly. However, if you succeed please update us - several of us are cheering for you - it could be a very useful add-in.
