Hello everybody,

i wonder if it exist in English a specific expression corresponding to an area that is protected to not be painted, while the rest of the part is painted?
Thank you

We generally use the term "masked" for such areas, because they are usually covered with some sort of mask during the painting operation. This is sometimes simply paper held down by tape (often "masking tape" is used).
