Translucent turns solid when subtracting 1

Since I upgraded to 7.5 I have an issue with my translucency.
My solid body is translucent but during the subtraction process, it will turn solid after I pick the first thing I want to subtract.
This makes it difficult to subtract everything that I want because I cannot see them.
After the command is complete, my translucency comes back.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?
thanks

Try going to the Selection Bar and toggling ON the icon labeled 'Highlight Hidden Edges' (you may have to enable it to make it visible and selectable).

But that being said, since you're running NX 7.5 rather then editing the 'translucency' of individual bodies may I suggest that consider swithcing to the new 'See-Thru' mode (with the 'See-Thru' method set to 'See-Trhu Layers') when you're performing operations like Boolean or when editing features as you may find that this give you more of what you're looking for while saving having to constantly editing the display properties of bodies. This can can enabled by a simple 'toggle' icon on the View toolbar.

Thanks John
I checked the highlight hidden edges and it does show the edges which helps but it is not like my old game was.
I also tried the see-thru layers. On my system that is a grayed out command. I am running a standard NX 7.5 with mold wizard.
any other suggestions?

Back to your original issue, what's happening is that we have added a preview behavior to the Boolean functions and what you're seeing is a preview of final model temporarily displayed as a fully shaded model. If you wish to return to the pre-NX 7.5 display behavior, just expand the 'Preview' section of the Boolean dialog and toggle OFF the 'Preview' option (note that you can toggle this option ON and OFF in the middle of a Boolean operation as needed if this helps you visualize your model better). With 'Preview' toggled OFF, NX should now behave like it did in the past.

AS for why your 'See-Thru' is grayed-out, I can't really understand that. Is it gray-out when your in normal Modeling, or only when you're in the Mold-Wizard task?

thank you John
the "preview" option was my problem and it works fine now.

As for the grayed out command, I was trying to pick the "see thru layers" in the "see thru style" but I did not have the command "see thru" above that toggled on.
When I toggled "see thru" on then "see thru style/see thru layers" no longer is grayed out.

I think at this point I can "see thru" anything. Fortunate since elections are coming up.
