In a 3-Phase power transmission line, is the overhead ground wire has an effect on the overall transmission line impedance? Kindly enlighten me. Thank you.

The OGW has no effect on the positive-sequence reactance but it does have a large effect on the zero-sequence reactance.

Thanks for the reply jghrist. My next question is: How to determine the zero sequence reactance with respect to the size and orientation of the overhead ground wire?

Check the Symmetrical Components section of faq238-1287. The Anderson book goes into great detail and the Blackburn book may be sufficient. Many Power System Analysis texts referenced will also include some information.
