Are there any standards or guidelines for design loads that should be considered when transporting equipment on a ship?

meca,
Loadings applied to objects on ships are heave, pitch and yaw. In effect the motion of the ship applies accelerations to an object on the ship. The acceleration is a function of the objects location from the fulcrum about which the ship rotates.

DSB123,

Thank you. When equipment is being designed without yet knowing the specifics of the ship transporting the equipment, are there any conservative assumptions that can be used?
