Hello,

I am designing a small bridge in New Hampshire that is 28 ft long and 16 ft wide made of (4) 14" deep x 4' wide solid slab beams. My company provides engineering and CAD services to fabricators in the north east. We have not done a design like this in NH before but have done many like it in other states. Most DOT's bridge design manuals (BDM) specify the number of transverse post-tensioning (P/T) ducts required for given lengths but the NHDOT BDM does not. I looked in AASHTO LRFD and didn't see much in the way of provisions relating to transverse P/T ducts except some commentary (C4.6.2.2.1-2) that states:

"The transverse post-tensioning shown for some
cross-sections herein is intended to make the units act
together. A minimum 0.25 ksi prestress is
recommended."

Can anyone point me to a design example?

Thank you!
