Does anyone have any opinions/tips regarding rerating an existing tower for F.V. by using Tray Supports as external pressure stiffening rings?

I am aware that the Tray Supports are subject to UG-29(a) and UG-29(c) in order to comply with code standards.

There is a previous thread with the same question:

Thanks,

Eddy

Simple; do a Rerate, complete with an API-510 Internal Inspx, paying close attention to the rings. Then see if the Rerate calc's will give you a reasonable Corrosion Allowance. You may have to completely reverse-engineer the rings. It will take the signature of am API-510 or AI, plus a vessel engineer.

Thus the tip is; tell 'em it is impossible without an Internal Inspx with the tower squeaky clean. No slimy lower sections allowed.
