Tree Structure while importing PARASOLID

Hi,
This issue was discussed once, but the problem was not solved...

I have a PARASOLID file of an assembly with hierarchy (sub assemblies etc). When imported to UG NX2, I get all parts, but without any tree structure (i.e. flat structure, all parts are children of the root node).
When the same PARASOLID file is imported into other CAD system (e.g. SolidWorks), the original assembly structure do appear (meaning that the structure is written the file).
What am I missing here? Is there an option I should set somewhere?

Dan.

I do know on the export side you MUSt do the export from the external translator, not an active part session. I wonder if you need to do the import with the external translator to maintain the Assembly structure.

Ben,
I don't have a PARASOLID translator in the external utility (from the Start/Prog Files/UG/Translators).
Is there another way to import a PARASOLID other than to the active part and from File/Import/parasolid ?

Thx,
Dan.

Sorry, I read your note too quickly and thought it said STEP. There is no ohter way to import a Parasolid into UG.

You might get a better answer if you ask it in the translators section of the internal BBS. My guess is that UG doesn't import the assembly structure from the Parasolid file. There are many types of data that are supported by the Parasolid file format that UG doesn't support.
