Looking to use the 3D Text Tool to create biligual nameplates - English and Arabic. However when I go to copy the Arabic from the source documents (MS Office), I run into a reversal of right to left to left to right in the individual arabic characters.

? ???? ???????? becomes <see attached screenshot>

Is there a field change I can make in NX5 to accept right to left verbage?

OK, you might be able to make this work, but only if you're actually using the Windows OS setup for Semitic languages (Arabic and Hebrew being the only two that I think this applies to). In that case whenever you are running a Windows Compliant application, which NX is, when you are in a text entry field such as when creating Geometric Text, if you press MB3 over the text entry field, when the list of options comes up there should be one which allows you switch the interpretation of the order of text entry from 'Left-to-Right' to 'Right-to-Left', which would then make their creation compatible with the way Semitic languages are written. However, if you are not using an Arabic or Hebrew Windows OS setup, this option is not available to the application. And before you ask, this is a limitation placed on the application developers by Microsoft and there are no tools to override the way they have implemented it, that is being Windows OS specific.

So if I had any other right to left scripting - then those base languages have to be loaded into the Windows OS before attempting to use between MS Office and NX5?

That's my understanding. Both MS Office and NX will know what to do if the system they are running on has been setup for Arabic. At least that is what the developer told me is how it works.
