Hi guys,

I'm very new to Abaqus, so I'm seeking for help.

I want to bend a beam by imposing a rotational displacement on a rigid body. I want to achieve this by rotating this body, clamping the beam at the top and having a roller constraint between beam and body. Please look at attached sketch.

However I don't know how to set this up/I keep running into difficulties, especially with the roller constraint.
Or if you guys know any tutorials that are similar, let me know.

Regards,
Marijn

Hi,

I've done this before using MPC type SLIDER. MPC stands for multi-point constraint. You could read about it in the Users manual:

35.2.2 General multi-point constraints

Free yourself from the image. You don't need the rigid body to get that behavior. Use that MPC or Connector of type Translator.
