We have a problem with condesate spewing from the TRS diversion vent. The parameters are:

1) Primary Blow Tank 2) 10 - 10" digester blowlines creating 1 header to Blow Tank - enters in upper quadrant
of tank
3) 150# steam inlet @ top of Blow Tank (enters the 48" vent from Blow Tank to
Entrainment Separator where the internal chimney has been previously removed)
4) Entrainment Separator has 10" drain to Tramp Iron Tank and then to Knotter Stock Pump
5) 48" vent from Entrainment Separator goes to an Accumulator (48" Prehy Blow Tank vent
and 10" vent from Prehy Bleed Tank intersect enrout to Accumulator)

When Diversion vent (located on top of 48" Entrainment Separator) opens, a significant amount of consensate erupts and disperses over about a 300 foot radius landing on personnel in that radius.

I am interested in:

1) any thoughts as to the cause of the condensate reaching so high.
2) What options there are to remove the upset causing the condensate to reach the vent
3) If no options - am I looking at a de-mister!

I suspect that the piping around the entraiment separator is collecting condensate from the blow steam after each blow. Have you checked to see that all possible liquid traps have a means for draining them?

Now close is this blow tank to the mill managers parking spot?
