Hello, I need a little refresher on true position.

I am using the outside diameter of a tube as my datum A and then end of the tube as datum B. If I remember correctly this will give you a 3d cylinder tolerance zone when you use the diameter symbol in front of your tolerance. However, How do you determine the depth of the tolerance zone?

Is it based off of..
A. the depth of the true position hole?
B. the length of datum B?
C. or the distance from the hole start to Datum B?

There are many internal diameters within the tube to house lenses so the angle projected over a distance is really important to me.

Any reply is greatly appreciated, Thanks :D

The extent of the tolerance zone is the full extent of the toleranced feature.

So in your case "A" unless you are using projected tols or something.
